Searching for clues leading to the authentication of a work of art is a complex process that requires consideration of all aspects of the work, including artistic and historical aspects, of course, but also the materials used.
For statues, the difficulty lies in the fact that the interior is not visible. To overcome this difficulty in the case of a silver statuette attributed to Rodin, Novitom succeeded in visualising the work in 3D using microtomography, revealing that the casting technique used was consistent with that of the period.
