X-ray computed tomography (CT) provides fully volumetric, non-destructive inspection of cast components. However, their localisation, characterisation and classification remain time-consuming and operator-dependent.

Reduction in errors

Inspection criteria and reject thresholds are configurable by the user. Performance is comparable with experienced CT inspectors while reducing operator-to-operator variability

Speed of analysis

Automated analysis currently enables CT scans to be processed significantly faster than manual inspection workflows, and with at least the same level of reliability.

Reduced inspection workload

The tedious tasks of image segmentation and labelling required to create training data (to train algorithms) are semi-automated thanks to a dedicated module developed by Novitom.
