Learning objectives
The course aims to describe the main structural characteristics of hair, from the nanometre scale to the macroscopic scale, and to present the main analytical techniques used to demonstrate the effects of treatments. In addition to conventional microscopy techniques, emphasis will be placed on emerging techniques that provide new insights, such as X-ray microtomography (XCT). The strengths and weaknesses of each technique will be described, with the aim of enabling participants to identify which techniques to use to advance their research and development projects.
